As a parent of three grown kids, I know from experience that summer is peak season for trampoline usage in backyards all across America.

The modern trampoline was created by George Nissen in Grand Rapids, Iowa, in 1936, when, as a teenage gymnast, he and his coach created a piece of equipment out of scrap steel and tire inner tubes for his act in the Iowa Hawkeye Circus. This “bouncing rig” gave Nissen the power to leap into a back somersault.

The University of Kentucky Men’s basketball team came up just a little short of winning the 2014 NCAA Men’s National championship a couple of weeks back. Their run through the NCAA brackets was simply amazing and legendary, especially considering they were the youngest team in the tournament with an all-freshman starting lineup.
